Our Other Top Green Juicer Picks:

Best Juicer for Greens Reviews

Omega J8006HDS Nutrition Center Juicer (👑 Top Pick)

In our view, the best juicer for greens is the Omega J8006HDS masticating juicer.

Omega is known for its excellent juicer quality, and incredibly generous warranties, and this model is no exception. Featuring a 15-year warranty, and available at an affordable price, the value for money is strong with this model.

As for performance, the Omega J8006HDS will make light work of greens, and do so in good time. This juicer hits the sweet spot with 80RPM, losing as few nutrients from the vegetables as possible, and making for a much colder, and fresher, juice.

The other big box that this Omega model ticks is juice quality. As well as minimising oxidation of the greens, the J8006HDS produces exceptionally dry pulp giving you a very high juice yield. It takes care of the pulp with its automatic pulp-ejection function, and makes sure you get every last drop of juice out of your ingredients. The adjustable end cap also sees to that, with 5 settings that give you more control over the pulp content of your juice.

This juicer also happens to double up as a food processor, which means it can take care of everything from nuts to coffee. This is a great additional feature if you plan on mixing it up with your juices, and introducing different ingredients to make them more palatable. It also means you’ll save money by not needing to go out and buy another kitchen appliance.

  • Horizontal dual-stage masticating juicer
  • 80 RPM
  • Food processor functionality
  • Automatic pulp-ejection
  • Adjustable end cap
  • 15-year warranty

Tribest GSE5000 Greenstar Elite (🥬 Best Kale Juicer)

The best kale juicer is the Tribest GSE5000 Greenstar Elite, offering you all the tools you need to take on one of the toughest of the greens.

The standout feature of this juicer is the stainless-steel magnetic twin gears. Twin gear systems tend to do a much better job of grinding down ingredients, and extracting the most juice possible. As a result, this juicer from Tribest is very well-equipped to take on the mighty kale, and give you the best value for money.

This juicer is fitted with a 110RPM motor, which will help break down the ingredients slowly, in a way that will reduce the loss of vitamins and minerals due to oxidation.

Another thing that makes this model great for making green juices out of kale is how easy it is to assemble and clean. Although that doesn’t sound like it makes much of a difference, it will make it easier to prepare the juicer for the next round of juicing. Juicers that are hard to disassemble and put back together again can be frustrating, and will extend the time it takes you to use it again.

You’ll also get your hands on homogenizing accessories with this juicer, which will allow you to make frozen fruit sorbets and nut butters on top of juices. This versatility is nice to have, especially when you consider the money you could save by using this model as a food processor as well as a juicer.

Finally, like Omega’s juicer, this model from Tribest features a healthy 15-year warranty for personal use, and 3-year warranty for professional use. This guarantees a safe investment, and should make it a much easier decision.

  •  Horizontal masticating juicer
  •  Stainless steel twin gears
  •  110RPM
  •  Easy assembly
  •  Food processor functionality
  •  15-year warranty for personal use, 3-year warranty for professional use

Aicok AMR521 Slow Juicer (🥕 Best Juicer for Vegetables)

The Aicok AMR521 is a widely praised masticating juicer that’s surprisingly affordable, and is capable of turning all of your vegetables into delicious and highly nutritious juices.

With a very compact design, don’t be fooled by the appearance of this juicer. While it may look too small and weak to deal with tough leafy greens and cruciferous vegetables, it’s packing an 80RPM motor and 7 segment spiral system. This makes it more than able to deal with all kinds of vegetables, while preserving much of the nutritious value in the process. Then there’s the reverse function, which will reduce clogging from stringy pulp like that of celery.

Perhaps the best part of this juicer though isn’t its efficiency, but the noise level with which it operates. As you’ll know if you’ve juiced before, the process can be loud at the best of times. That’s why you’ll probably appreciate a more quiet juicer, one which operates at 60dB or less. Well, that’s exactly what this Aicok model does, so no need to worry about disturbing anyone else at home when you set this juicer to work.

You’ll also have a very easy time cleaning up this unit, since it’s very compact, and made up of dishwasher-safe parts. In fact, it’s as straightforward as pushing a single button to take it apart.

  • Horizontal masticating juicer
  • 7-segment spiral system
  • 80RPM
  • One-button disassembly
  • Operates at less than 60dB
  • 2 years quality assurance
  • 2-year warranty

Kuvings Whole Slow Juicer B6000S (🥗 Best Juicer for Leafy Greens)

This vertical masticating juicer from Kuvings is a powerful model, which can take on stubborn leafy greens and come out on top every time.

Being a vertical juicer, you will bee able to fit more in the chute. The wide 3 inch chute is big enough to permit a lot of leafy greens to pass at a time. This will make your life a lot easier when it comes to making juices primarily from kale or spinach for example. It will also help you juice much more quickly, which is ideal for those mornings when you need to be out the door but also need your green juice fix.

Aside from its convenient design, the Kuvings slow juicer features a a motor which runs at 60RPM, which is just about as slow as it gets for masticating juicers. This means minimal oxidation of the leafy greens, and as a result much greater retention of those precious vitamins and nutrients. Which is the main reason you would want to juice leafy greens in the first place.

You will also have some neat multi-functionality with this juicer, as it can also make smoothies and work as a food processor. The food processor functionality makes it versatile, and can potentially save you money in the long-term. But the ability to make smoothies is what makes this juicer even better value for money. Usually you’d need a blender to make smoothies, so this is a very unique feature. It means if you want to mix it up, you can throw your leafy greens into smoothies on occasion, for different results.

Tribest GSE-5050 (🥒 Best Juicer for Green Juice)

An upgrade on the Tribest GSE-5000, which we chose as our best juicer for kale, the GSE-5050 is pricier, but the complete package for green juice.

An excellent option that will take care of all your green juice needs, this model from Tribest is a premium powerhouse with all the portability you’d expect from a budget juicer. It’s odd to talk about the portability of a more expensive juicer, since they tend to be large and fit only for use in the kitchen. This model though has a compact design, and convenient handle, which make it the best choice for green juices at home or while you’re away.

Fitted with jumbo twin gears, that are each lined with razor-sharp teeth, the Tribest juicer will do a fantastic job of juicing even the toughest of greens. The twin gear system is proven to be most effective for vitamin retention, and will consistently work to produce cold, fresh juice.

This model also features a pressure adjustment mechanism, which is their way of saying it has an adjustable end cap. As we know, this is used to give you more control over how much pulp you want in your juice, if any.

Even the extras of this juicer are impressive. You’ll get a few different screens, for determining how much pulp you have in your juice. Then there’s the homogenizing accessories for food processing, and the breadstick maker to make breadsticks and rice cakes. It also comes with some plungers, and a cleaning brush for extra convenience.

What To Look For When Selecting a Juicer For Greens

1. Masticating vs Centrifugal

A debate that those who are familiar with juicing will have encountered more than a few times is whether it’s better to use a masticating or a centrifugal juicer.

When it comes to greens – particularly the leafy kind – there’s only really one winner, and that’s the masticating juicer.

While the centrifugal juicer has its uses, the masticating juicer is better suited to extracting the best juice from every kind of green you can think of.

Whereas a centrifugal juicer will deliver the juice rapidly for those times you need a quick morning energy boost, a masticating juicer will enhance the health benefits you’ll get from drinking the green juice.

Let’s be honest: nobody drinks green juices for the taste.

They can be palatable at best for most of us. What we’re really looking for in a green juice is nutritional value, and the more of that we can keep from the vegetables, the better.

That’s where the masticating juicer comes in. Working with an auger, this type of juicer has a very slow process which gives off very little heat, and minimises oxidation of the ingredients.

This way, it retains as many nutrients as possible, and produces a juice that will stay fresher for longer.

2. Juice Quality

As we’ve established, you’re probably better off going with a masticating juicer if you’re looking to get the most out of your green juices.

However, there are some other factors that contribute to overall juice quality which are important to bear in mind.

First up is juice yield. Juice yield refers to the amount of juice you get from the ingredient. The reason you want the highest juice yield possible is to get the most value for money.

Imagine splashing out on a huge tray of leafy greens, only to find that your juicer can only manage to make one or two glasses of juice out of it. To avoid this scenario, pay attention to juicers which have higher juice yields, which is often determined by the inner machinery and power of the motor.

The other factor that affects juice quality is the pulp. If you thought green juices were hard to digest before, try drinking one that has all the pulp left in.

While there are benefits to drinking juice with pulp, such as extra fibre intake, you will probably want a model that minimises pulp for an extra smooth juice.

Or, if you want the power to make juices with or without pulp, you can look out for models with an adjustable cap which will give you more control over the end result.

3. Power

A factor that should come up in every juicer-buyer’s mind is the power, and speed, of the juicer.

Interestingly, with masticating juicers, you should be looking for high motor power, but low speed.

The higher the power, the better your juicer will be able to deal with the toughest greens you can throw at it. In general though, you probably won’t need to go much higher than 800-1000 watts, as that should do the job well enough.

Due to the slow process, an ideal number to look for when it comes to speed is around 80RPM, but can range from 60-120. And yes, that means that if you go the masticating juicer route you will have to wait substantially more time for your green juice. But it’ll be well worth the wait, we promise!

4. Noise Level

The last factor to consider is one that is crucial for those who enjoy their green juices best first thing in the morning.

If you live alone, you can skip this section, as you probably won’t be too concerned about how much noise your juicer makes so long as it comes up with the good.

If you live with others though, you want to know that your juicer can juice as quietly as possible, so you don’t need to risk waking up everyone else in the house to get your juice fix.

In general, when a juicer is able to run at around 60dB or less, this is a good sign.

Top 5 Best Green Vegetables To Juice

If you’ve found yourself taken aback by the number of different green vegetables you can juice, we’ll try and make your life a little easier in this section.

While pretty much any green vegetable will give you health benefits worthy of your time, there are some which are much better juiced.

1. Kale

As you might have guessed if you’ve at all followed green juice trends in the past few years: kale is king.

The green superfood that instantly makes any juice or smoothie healthy, kale is a great ingredient to add to your juices. While it may be a little tough and strong-flavoured to add to your salads, in a juice it’ll be easy to digest and full of health benefits.

Kale is widely touted as one of the best ingredients for green juices due to its high vitamin content and antioxidant properties. With especially high amounts of vitamins A, C, and K, you can expect a pep in your step with a glass of kale juice first thing in the morning.

2. Spinach

The next leafy green that probably comes to mind after kale is the slightly fresher spinach.

Spinach is also vitamin-rich, containing high levels of vitamins A and C, as well as having plenty of antioxidants to help your body function as it should.

As an extra bonus, spinach has antacid qualities to it, which makes it ideal for dealing with acid reflux if it’s something you suffer with.

All in all, spinach is a great ingredient you can buy in bulk, and add to any green juice you plan on making.

3. Broccoli

Now we’re entering slightly lesser-well known territory. Broccoli is our next best green vegetable to add to juices. While it may seem like an impossible task to juice a vegetable as hard as broccoli, it is possible, and is well worth your time to do so.

A member of the cruciferous family of vegetables, by juicing broccoli you’ll add a lot of micronutrients to your juices. This includes potassium, folate, manganese, and iron. All of which will contribute to your overall well being, and give your juices an extra health kick.

You’ll also get a healthy dose of antioxidants with broccoli too.

4. Cucumbers

If you were thinking that all green vegetables are hard, tough, and dry, then cucumber should change your mind.

An interesting addition to your green juices, cucumber is a very watery vegetable which will have a much higher juice yield than the greens we’ve already mentioned.

Not only are they low in calories, but they have a high content of micronutrients like potassium and manganese. They all have an abundance of vitamins C and K.

But the best part of juicing cucumbers is you’ll get more juice for your money, and with the higher water content, you will be able to stay hydrated and boost your digestion.

5. Cabbage

The last of our favourite green vegetables to juice has to be cabbage. An odd selection, perhaps, but one which will take your green juices to the next level.

In cabbage you will find plenty of vitamins C and K, along with a handful of micronutrients such as manganese, and folate.

Consuming cruciferous vegetables also puts you in a better position to deal with heart disease, and conditions like diabetes.

Frequently Asked Questions About Juicers & Green Juice

Which juicer is best for leafy greens?

The best juicer for leafy greens is the Kuvings B6000S.

We like it for its wide 3 inch chute, making preparation minimal. You can make large batches of leafy green-based juice with this model in no time at all.

You’ll also be able to use this juicer as a blender for thicker green smoothies, if that’s your preference.

What is the best juicer for kale?

The best juicer for kale is the Tribest GSE5000, with its twin-gear masticating process, it makes light work of kale.

Can I drink green juice everyday?

While there’s nothing to stop you drinking green juice everyday, it can be problematic if you do so to replace a lot of meals.

Green juice is very healthy, but there’s one thing it doesn’t contain which we need to consume every day: fibre.

If you rely on green juices as a complete replacement for fruits and vegetables, then you will be missing out on a lot of fibre intake, which can lead to digestion issues and other health-related issues.

If you drink green juice as a supplement to eating fruit and vegetables, or find another way to increase your fibre intake, then you should be fine to do so everyday.

Make sure you regulate the quantity of green juice you drink each though, since too much oxalic acid – which green vegetables have in abundance – can harm your body in the long run.

What vegetables should not be juiced?

There are no vegetables that should not be juiced per se, but there are some caveats.

For example, some vegetables are very tough to break down and extract juice from, such as winter squash.

Others can contribute to or cause health problems if you consume them in excess.

Cruciferous vegetables like cabbage and broccoli in large quantities can affect thyroid problems. They can also contribute to bloating when consumed raw.

In a nutshell – you can juice any vegetable, just make sure you consume them in moderation and don’t overdo it.
